Homo sum

Every time I feel disappointment in my own or other people's behaviour and actions, or exasperatedly mutter under my breath "who does that?", it might be worth intoning homo sum.

Homo sum means "I am human". As in:

Homo sum, humani nihil a me alienum puto - I am human, nothing that is human is alien to me.

As said by the Roman Terence the African, in his comedy Heautontimorumenos.

Homo sum expresses our fallibility. We all err. That's just how it is.
